Cordillera Wine Tasting

Cordillera Wine Tasting
VClub had the pleasure of sharing some South African hospitality with the fun loving patrons of Cordillera Ranch. Our special guest for the event was Vergelegen's Managing Director Wayne Coetzer. Having lived in Texas for 1 year as an exchange student in 1990, Wayne felt a little like he was coming home.

Our trip to Texas started with an amazing lunch at the renowned "Mon Chou Chou" in San Antonio. Executive Chef Laurent Réa executed perfectly, his rendition of BOURGUIGNON DE JOUE DE BŒUF (Braised Beef Cheek in a Burgundy Wine Sauce, Marble Potatoes, Pearl Onions, Bacon) was prepared to perfection.

Our V1700 was paired up against a 1982 Chateau Haut Brion & a Grands Echezeaux  , and it certainly held its own.
No visit to Cordillera is complete without a round of Golf. The course was in beautiful condition and rewarded great shots. Local members Brett Nichols and Shawn Goslin did a superb task of hosting us.

Then came the wine tasting event. Cordillera's Michael and Jeff prepared a pairing menu that was a culinary experience to behold. Vergelegen wines were enhanced by the perfect choice of foods. All the guests had a great evening, going forward most guests will be stocking Vergelegen in their cellars. 🍷🍷🍷
Last but not least, Emile Welman was one of the highlights of the evening. His range of vocals had the audience thoroughly entertained.
